The Thai Khadi Research Institute held a workshop on "Social Impact Assessment (SIA) and Mega-Developing Projects: the Study of the Natural Gas Pipeline No. 3 Project of Petroleum Authority of Thailand." Participants included policy makers, officers, local leaders, and representatives from private and public relation sectors.

To mark the 70th anniversary of Thammasat University in 2004, the Thai Khadi Research Institute in conjunction with Thammasat University alumni and students hosted a musical performance "King of Music, King of Soul" at TU Auditorium. Features include songs composed by HM the King and popular songs from 1960's to 2000's.

The Thai Khadi Research Institute held a workshop on "Thailand's Potentialities: The Reformation under King Rama V's Regime unto Present". Scholars from different disciplines were invited to define concept and scope of research on the effects of the administrative and socioeconomic reformation on the country's prosperity and potentialities.

The Thai Khadi Research Institute in conjunction with C.P. Seven Eleven Co., Ltd. (Public) held a seminar on "Sino-Thai: Ethnic and Language Relations in the Ancient Time".

The Thai Khadi Research Institute and the National Museum Volunteers jointly sponsored an English lecture series entitled "Research Methodology for the Study of Art History in Thailand". The program intended to give attendants a deeper understanding of Thai art and art history in Thailand, encourage analytical thinking, provide a research methodology, and present the current state of knowledge. Lecturer : Dr. Piriya Krairiksh.

As part of celebrations of HM the Queen's 72 birthday, the Thai Khadi Research Institute in conjunction with Rajabhat University and CP Seven Eleven Co., Ltd. (Public) sponsored, at Sirindhorn Anthropology Center, a lecture on "Life and Works of Phrya Sanoh Duriyang on Thai Classical Music". A spectacular performance of Thai dual orchestra was demonstrated.

In commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of King Chulalongkorn in 2004, the Thai Khadi Research Institute hosted a seminar on "The West in the East: Thai Society from the Reign of King Rama V unto Present" at Sirindhorn Anthropology Center. Keynote speaker: Dr. Piriya Krairiksh.

On the auspicious occasion of the 81st birthday anniversary of HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhivas Rajanagarindr in 2004, the Thai Khadi Research Institute in conjunction with Sirindhorn Anthropology Center and the Yunnan Culture and History Research House hosted a conference on "Tai Studies in China". Keynote speaker: Assoc Prof. Sumitr Pitiphat.
